Gurley Easter Bunny in a Bonnet Candle

$15.00

Condition: Pre-owned - Good

Dimensions: 3” x 1.5”

The Gurley Novelty company originated in good ‘ol Buffalo, NY. According to Wikipedia,

“(Gurley Novelty) was known for making small, figurine-shaped candles for the main holidays, most notably Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Halloween . . . Gurley candles have become popular collectible items.”

The most interesting fact about Gurley is that it was commissioned by Socony-Vacuum Oil Company (now ExxonMobil) to use excess paraffin that was a by-product of the oil refinery process. Again, according to Wikipedia. They made the cutest candles EVER during the last half of the 20th century. According to me. 😊

Well, move over Christmas choir boys and Halloween witches; here we have the vintage Gurley Easter Bunny in a Bonnet candle!

She has never been lit (thank heavens!), but she has some dust and markings that should be fairly easy to remove. I’m just terrified to do it myself! Her sweet little face has been worn away in places, but dang! She’s still adorable and Easter-y!
