American Chestnut Deck the Halls Figurine

$55.00

Condition: Pre-owned - Excellent

Dimensions: 8” x 4” x 6.5”

The American Chestnut Company produced some of the folksy-ist folk art figurines ever. Truly.

This particular piece - Deck the Halls - features Santa and a little bear decorating a tree. It’s adorable. Despite the bear’s odd expression. Must be a folk art thing.

I spent an incredibly long time looking for information on the American Chestnut Company. I found nothing about the folk art figurines. But I DID learn about the actual American chestnut.

Did you know that the American chestnut was close to extinction?? Here’s an excerpt from The History of the American Chestnut:

The history of The American chestnut and its relationship with humans is a tale of bounty, tragedy, and ultimately, of hope and redemption.

Pretty dramatic, right? You should definitely read the entire article.
